The Center for the Study of Social Difference and the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Council are co-hosting a spring 2015 Keywords Roundtable Discussion on the keyword “trans.” Transgender is a key framing subject for the panel and the suggestion of fluidity—of movement, identity, signification—will be examined. Other concepts to be considered are translation, transnational, transportation.

Moderated by Jean Howard, George Delacorte Professor in the Humanities and Chair, Department of English and Comparative Literature, Columbia University.
